Here are links to some of our favorite things to do:

West Coast Wild Zip Line Adventures

Wild Pacific Trail

Jamie's Whaling Station

Ucluelet Aquarium

Toquart Bay for oyster harvesting
(make sure you check for Red Tide closures if you do this activity)

Kennedy Lake for swimming

Ucluelet is relatively unknown in the large scheme of things. First of all it's hard to say. Second, it takes a back seat to Tofino, which is on the northern end of this wee peninsula. This doesn't mean it isn't a great place to be. So have a read and click on the links to get to know us a little better!

I won't write about what Ucluelet has to offer as someone has already said it better than me.  However, I can give you my perspective on what it's like to live here.

The first word that comes to mind is Quiet. Not quiet as in silent, just mostly free of human noise. Even in the height of the tourist season I can sit on my deck in the evening and hear a dog bark from across the harbor. Nearly every day I wake up to eagles chatting and fall asleep to the distant roll of the ocean. Then there's your winter wind and rain ( = sideways rain) that will dominate all sounds.

So when you're packing bring an umbrella at the very least. This small corner of the world has so much to offer, rain or shine. It's always fun if you're prepared.

See you soon!
